Hamburg

Hamburg: The Gateway to the World.

We chose this city to help build one of the world’s most-played strategy franchises.

What We Do

Twin Harbour Interactive builds strategy games with staying power. The Supremacy franchise has reached over 90 million players and is still growing, run by a team that treats live service not as maintenance work but as craft.

Our Hamburg studio is where Supremacy: 1914 and Supremacy: Call of War 1942 are run, two of the franchise’s most enduring titles, while the team here contributes across the broader Supremacy portfolio alongside our sister studio in Malta. Two studios, one shared ambition: to keep building strategy worlds that players return to for years.

Running live strategy games with millions of active players means the work is always in contact with reality. You are not shipping into a void; you are adjusting, responding, and designing for people who care deeply about what you do.

The Team

Over 30 different nationalities, and everyone has a strong opinion on the best food in town.

We are a genuinely international crew, not in the corporate-brochure sense but in the sense that on any given day, the conversation in the office might cover three subjects in two languages before anyone is done with lunch. People came here from across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond – drawn by the games, the city, or both.

We take the work seriously, and most of us are here because we love strategy games as much as we love making them. What builds on top of that is a team where friendships form naturally, not just working relationships. If you value who you work with as much as what you work on, that is something we can honestly offer.

Hamburg

Hamburg

Hamburg is Germany’s second largest city and its gateway to the world. The Elbe, the harbour, and centuries of trading history give the city an openness that is hard to manufacture. It does not feel like a place that needs to try.

Germany is an EU member state with straightforward processes for EU candidates. For everyone else, Hamburg’s international community is well-used to welcoming people from outside the bloc. English is the working language in Hamburg’s tech and games scene; German opens more doors over time and becomes a natural next step, but it is not a requirement to start.

Expect real seasons, world-class music venues, the best fish market you will ever visit on a Sunday morning, and more canals than Venice.

The studio, day to day

We thought about the practical things.

Our office sits in St. Pauli, Hamburg’s most creative and characterful neighbourhood. Zirkusweg puts you close to the Elbe waterfront, a short walk from the fish market, and a short ride from the city centre. The area has been a hub for culture, arts, and independent thinking for decades, and that energy is hard to miss.

We invest in people staying and growing here, not just arriving. We encourage the team to upgrade their skillset, offer ways to learn about industry standards, and give real opportunities for career progression.

We work hybrid, typically two to three days in the office each week. There is no rigid formula: the work and the team shape that better than a policy can. What we ask is that when you are in, you are actually there, and when you are remote, you are genuinely set up to do your best work.

Relocation

We have done this before, and we will walk you through it.

Moving countries is a project, and we treat it like one. Visa and relocation support are part of the package, along with a broader set of benefits covering health, wellbeing, commuting, and the everyday things that make a new place feel like home. EU candidates benefit from a straightforward and fast process. For Third Country Nationals, we review applications on a case-by-case basis.

You and your family will not be figuring this out alone.

Curious before you commit?

We are happy to connect you with someone on the team for an honest conversation, not a recruiter call, but a chat with someone who made the move themselves.
